Events & Exhibits

The Town of Penetanguishene offers a few different options when it comes to beaches for enjoying the warm weather. Rotary Champlain Wendat Park and Huronia Park all offer sandy beaches, great swimming areas along with other amenities including playgrounds, pavilions, washrooms and much more. Accessible by foot or by car these beaches are a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

2025 Exhibits

Penetanguishene 150th Exhibit

  • Date: September 13th to December 12th
  • Celebrating 150 years since Incorporation, this exhibit highlights the history of Penetanguishene from its Indigenous beginnings to its incorporation in 1875.
  • Exhibit also includes a special section highlighting the festivities in 1975 when celebrating Penetanguishene's 100th Anniversary.

2025 Events

History Talk: Penetanguishene and the World Wars

  • Date: November 6, 2025
  • Time: 7PM
  • Hear from Burke Thompson, son of 'Great Escape' survivor A.B. Thompson, and John Dubeau, local historian, along with special guests, as they explore the role of Penetanguishene locals in the World Wars—their stories, their sacrifices, and their legacy.
  • Free Admission

Fun with Santa

  • Date: December 13th
  • Time: 9:30AM to 12:00PM
  • Visit with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, complete a scavenger hunt, decorate a cookie, and get a craft loot bag!
  • $ 6 per child
  • Registration is required.
