Flags lowered in honour of fallen OPP officer

The flags at Town of Penetanguishene sites have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Ontario Provincial Police Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala. 

Provincial Constable Grzegorz (Greg) Pierzchala, of the Haldimand County Detachment, was shot and killed while responding to a motor vehicle collision in Hagersville, Ontario.  To view the OPP news release here: https://www.opp.ca/news/#/viewnews/63ace3e2e4b87 

“On behalf of our community, council and staff, I offer sincere condolences to Constable Pierzchala’s family, friends and colleagues.  During this time of grieving, these professionals continue to serve our communities.  We recognize, appreciate and support all first responders who put themselves in harm’s way to make our communities safer” said Mayor Doug Rawson.

Flags will remain at half-mast until the day after the funeral.
