Proof of Vaccination required at the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives
November 5, 2021 – Under the Provincial plan to safely reopen Ontario and Manage COVID-19 for the long-term, beginning on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, visitors to the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives will be required to provide proof of vaccination (POV) against COVID-19, removing capacity limits and physical distancing requirements within the facility.
When entering the Museum, visitors will be greeted by staff and must provide POV and valid identification if they are eligible for the vaccine.
Medical exemptions apply, however proof is required in the form of a written document along with valid identification. Documentation must be supplied by a physician or Registered Nurse in the extended class and include the effective time period for the exemption.
“Prior to the latest provincial announcement, the Museum operated under strict capacity limits and physical distancing requirements, while also requiring Proof of Vaccination for certain uses of the facility. By implementing the Proof of Vaccination option provided by the province, the Museum will be able to serve more visitors while continuing to offer value-added programming to the community.” says Sherry Desjardins, Director of Recreation and Community Services.
This new requirement is aligned with other museums and non-essential Town services currently operating under similar restrictions such as the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Center (PMCC) that has been required to check POV since late September.
Before entering the Museum, visitors are asked to have the following documents ready:
- Proof the visitor has received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to their visit. To download your vaccination receipt, please visit: https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/
- Valid identification. Examples of acceptable identification documents include the following:
- Birth Certificate
- Citizenship card
- Driver's Licence
- Government issued ID card (Ontario or other)
- Health Card
- Indian Status Card/Indigenous Membership Card
- Passport
- Permanent Resident Card
