Seeking Applications for Town Advisory Committees/Boards
The Town of Penetanguishene relies on the expertise of volunteers in the community and appoints approximately 55 public appointments to one of the many boards and committees. Advisory Committee vacancies are typically advertised at the end of each Council term and decisions are made by the Mayor before the inaugural meeting of Council in December. However, the committees are currently being reviewed as part of the Service Delivery Review and there may be some changes to the names and structures of the committees. It is anticipated that any changes, if any, will be implemented in January/February 2019. All applicants will be informed of any pertinent changes if required before the appointment is made. As other vacancies arise throughout the term, these positions will be advertised accordingly.
Those who wish to apply must submit an application form to the Town Clerk, Stacey Cooper. A listing and description of all advisory committess can be found on the Town website. A copy of the application form is available online or may be picked up at Townhall. Supplementary information (i.e. resumes, cover letters) may be attached with the application.
The deadline for applications related to the Committee of Adjustment, Police Services Board, and Penetanguishene Public Library Board is Friday January 11, 2019. Appointments for these three committees will be done at the Council meeting of January 23, 2019.
