Beware of Door-to-Door Water Treatment Sales Agents
Residents supplied with municipal water are advised not to open their door to anyone asking to test their tap water, collect tap water samples or install water equipment unless that person is an employee of the Town of Penetanguishene.
The Town of Penetanguishene does not employ or authorize other companies to test municipal tap water or to collect municipal tap water samples on the Town's behalf. Penetanguishene Water Division staff carry photo ID cards and drive town-owned vehicles.
Penetanguishene Water Operators are certified to conduct drinking water tests to confirm water safety, and to collect drinking water samples, which are analyzed by an accredited and licensed laboratory.
The Town of Penetanguishene is responsible for the treatment and distribution of the municipal water supply. Penetanguishene's water quality meets the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards (Ontario Regulation 169/03).
Should you have any concerns about water safety or quality, we would be happy to assist you.
