- Deputy Mayor Dubeau on behalf of Town of Penetanguishene Council, proclaimed March 2022 as #ITStarts month in the Town of Penetanguishene.
- Council held a Public Meeting Presentation in regards to Short Term Rental Licensing.
- Council held a Public Meeting for the Zoning By-law Amendment - Removal of the Holding “H” Symbol for 21 & 19 Jury Drive.
- Council received a presentation from Father Michael Knox, Director of Martyrs' Shrine regarding an update on Martyrs' Shrine.
- Council received deputation from Stu Spiers, President Penetanguishene Curling Club and 25 letters of support.
- Council directed staff to prepare a draft Licensing By-law for Short Term Rentals and prepare a report for a future Committee of the Whole meeting to address comments received at the Public Meeting and through other public consultation.
- Council approved Zoning By-law Amendment to remove the Holding “H” Symbol for the properties municipally known as 21 and 19 Jury Drive.
- Council approved that the security being held for Phase 3 of the Harbour Pointe Development be reduced from $786,790.01 to $616,898.13, in accordance with the subdivision agreement.
- Council directed staff to submit the Town’s response to the County of Simcoe related to the County Fire Review recommendations 1 to 10 as presented.
- Council received verbal update from the Chief Administrative Officer regarding COVID-19 Municipal Impacts for information.
- Council approved Planning and Community Development Appointments, outlining that in the absence of Andrea Betty, Jeff Lees is granted authority to issue approvals and execute such instruments, documents, plans etc. in relation to items, applications, agreements etc. as the Director of Planning and Community Development, and that Owen Taylor be appointed to the Town of Penetanguishene's Committee of Adjustment as the Secretary Treasurer.
- Council St Amant made a motioned that Penetanguishene Council call on the Ontario government to immediately repeal Bill 124, this motion was denied.
- Council passed bylaw 2022-15 - Being a By-law to Amend Zoning By-law 2000-02, as amended of The Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene (Remove ‘H’ Symbol from 19 Jury Drive and 21 Jury Drive).
Committee of the Whole (Committee) facilitates the decision-making process of Council. The Committee is comprised of all members of Council who fully participate in debate and forward recommendations to Council for final decision. Items that are discussed in Committee of the Whole are to be ratified at Council’s next meeting.
- Committee received the Midland Penetanguishene Transit Committee Meeting Minutes Sept 14th, 2021 for information.
- Committee received the Ojibwa Landing Ecological and Human Health Risk Assessment Project Update for information.
- Committee approved the Asphalt Resurfacing Tender submitted from Georgian Paving Ltd in the amount of $286,036.90 (including HST).
- Committee approved the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation on Chatham Street Tender 2022-08 submitted from Aqua Tech Solutions Inc. in the amount of $182,428.00 (including HST).
- Committee approved the recommended action regarding Preventative Road Maintenance – Reclamite Asphalt Rejuvenator.
- Committee approved the 2022-02 Surface Treatment Tender from Duncor Enterprises Limited for a bid price of $267,313.93 (including HST).
- Committee received the following Recreation and Community Services minutes and reports for information: Curling Club Minutes February 8th, Penetanguishene Public Library Minutes - November 22, Library Report to Council March 2 2022.
- Committee received the Municipal By-law Enforcement Monthly Report for information.
- Committee received Allocation of Municipal Modernization Funds Update for information.
- Committee received the 2020 - 2021 Annual Water & Wastewater Write-Offs for information.
- Committee received the 2021 Annual Remuneration Report for Council, Boards and Committees.
- Committee approved the 2022 Work Plans for the Community Wellbeing Committee, Museum & Heritage Committee, and Trails Committee as presented.
- Committee approved the Request for a Reduction of a Large Water Consumption Charge in the amount of $2,277.13, on a one-time only basis.
- Committee approved the amendment to the contract salary grid as presented within Schedule B of the Salary Administration Policy.
- Committee received the Community Based Strategic Plan – Progress Report, Year 2 for information.
