Council & Committee of the Whole Meeting Highlights – August 12, 2020

- Council received the 2020 year-to-date Financial Summary and Overview of COVID-19 Financial Impacts Report Update #5. Council passed a motion to extend the fee waivers for Fire Permits and Dog Licences until December 31, 2020.
- Council approved the 2021 Budget Timeline.
- Council passed a motion of support from Tay Township concerning Great Lakes Water Level.
- Council approved the amendment of the procedural by-law to allow for electronic participation and will continue at one meeting per month for the rest of 2020.
- Council approved staff recommendation to use $11,092 of the capital budget to complete the necessary repairs to the arena dehumidifier.
- Council approved Committee of the Whole recommendations from July 8, 2020 relating to Recreation and Community Services, Planning and Development Services, Transportation and Environmental Services and Finance and Corporate Services.
- Council passed four by-laws including a by-law to designate a Community Improvement Plan Project Area, a by-law to adopt a Community Improvement Plan, by-law to Amend Zoning By-law 2000-02 1145 Fuller Avenue being the St. Andrews Village subdivision and a by-law to amend by-law 2019-25 to Govern the Proceedings of Council and its Committees.
- Committee received Council Information package of August 12th, 2020 for information. A request from the Penetanguishene Kings was referred to staff for further information.
- Committee approved staff recommendation for Transit Bus Stop Advertising Agreement to approve Bid #1 received from Creative Outdoor Advertising.
- Committee received Museums Assistance Program COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Heritage Organizations Report for information purposes.
- Committee received memo regarding additional janitorial services.
- Committee approvedstaff recommendation for the Heritage Tax Rebates 2019 tax year.
- Committee approved staff recommendation to secure a new agreement with the County of Simcoe to increase the scope of the paramedic post from a rapid response unit to an ambulance service.
- Committee received memo to council regarding Municipal By-Law Monthly Activity Report.
- Committee received memo to council regarding Business Recovery Task Force Meeting #1.
- Committee approved amendments to the extended use of sidewalk by-law.
- Committee received an update on the award of RFP – North Simcoe Municipal Services Review – Phase One.
- Committee approved staff to proceed with bringing forward refreshment vehicle license at Rotary Champlain Wendat Park for Council consideration at a future meeting.
