Council Highlights January 11, 2023

- Members of Council convened in Closed Session to discuss personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.
- Council received a deputation from Jean Daigle regarding proposed amendments to by-law 2012-13, being a by-law to prohibit dumping or depositing of litter on lands or highways.
- Council received a presentation from the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association regarding permission to blaze a trail in Penetanguishene.
- Council approved Zoning By-law Amendment (File No. Z.A. 3/2022) for 69 and 71 Polish Avenue
- Council approved a staff recommendation to submit comments to the Province of Ontario on the County of Simcoe Official Plan Amendment No. 7 under the Environmental Registry of Ontario ERO Posting – 019-6113. Comments will be provided that request a reduction in the density and intensification targets for the Town and to exempt the Town from policy 6.3.5 of the Growth Plan.
- Council approved the Terms of Reference for the Committee of Adjustment.
- Council approved the committee appointment of Don Cooper for the Huronia Airport Commission Task Force.
- Council approved the direction to staff to communicate the urgency to the Minister of the Solicitor General and MPP of Simcoe North Jill Dunlop to fill the vacancy on the Police Services Board.

- 2023-01 - Being a By-law to require applicants to consult with the Town of Penetanguishene prior to submission of a development application (Pre-consultation By-law).
- 2023-02- Being a By-law to Amend Zoning By-law 2000-02 as amended of The Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene regarding 69 and 71 Polish Avenue.
- 2023-03- Being a By-law to Amend Zoning By-law 2022-17, as amended of The Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene regarding 69 and 71 Polish Avenue.
- 2023-04- Being a By-Law to Amend the Town of Penetanguishene Water Works Utility By-law 2015-64 Schedule A-A Schedule of Fees and A-C Schedule of Rates.
Committee of the Whole (Committee) facilitates the decision-making process of Council. The Committee is comprised of all members of Council who fully participate in debate and forward recommendations to Council for final decision. Items that are discussed in Committee of the Whole are to be ratified at Council’s next meeting.

- Committee received the December 13, 2022, Curling Club Board Meeting Minutes for information.
- Committee received the Municipal Law Enforcement Monthly Activity Report from December 2022 for information.
- Committee received a memo regarding the 2022 Parking Study for information.
- Committee received a memo regarding the 4th Quarter Planning and Community Development Department Update for information.
- Committee received a memo regarding Planning and Community Development Department 2022 Year in Review for information.
- Committee approved the Policy 001-2023 being Pre-servicing Policy in accordance with Staff Report PL-2023-02.
- Committee approved the Draft Plan of Condominium/Exemption Request Application – 1145 Fuller Avenue (St. Andrews Village Subdivision) as outlined in the staff report.
