Council Highlights - October 23, 2019

Council Highlights provide a brief overview of noteworthy decisions and presentations made at Town of Penetanguishene Council meetings. Detailed agendas and minutes from the meetings are available on our website or you can view our livestream for additional details. Meetings take place the second and fourth Wednesday of each month unless otherwise noted.​

Council

• Council received an updated report regarding the Subdivision Agreement for Phase 2 of Harbour Pointe Subdivision (Formerly Phase 3 of Bellisle Heights Subdivision).  Ultimately, the By-law for entering into the Subdivision Agreement was passed after a recorded vote where it was approved with a result of 6 in favour and 3 opposed.
• Council approved staff proceeding with a formal request to Tiny Township for an increase to the Arena financial contribution.
• Council approved three By-laws including the Subdivision Agreement as mentioned above, as well as authorization for entering into an agreement with Greenland International Consulting Ltd for General Consulting Engineering Services and another authorizing an agreement with D. Carr Excavating limited for the commodity of winter sand.

Committee of the Whole (items that were discussed to be ratified at Council’s next meeting):

• Committee received an update regarding the County Rod 93 Multi-use Trail including a revised request for additional financial contribution to the County of Simcoe.
• Committee received a letter from the Southern Georgian Bay Family Physician Recruitment requesting annual funding.  Committee requested that this item be forwarded to the 2020 Budget process for consideration.
• Committee received a report from the Director of Human Resources regarding the Chief Administrative Officer’s Performance Evaluation process and policy.
