Exploring Microtransit in Penetanguishene: Public Meeting

Update: Thank you to everyone who shared feedback about the challenges of getting home via Mid-Pen Transit after evening meetings. We understand how important accessible transportation is.

To better support our residents, the meeting has been rescheduled to 3:00 PM.

We appreciate your input and look forward to seeing you there!

The Town of Penetanguishene is inviting residents to attend a public meeting to share feedback on the potential introduction of Microtransit — a flexible, app-based, on-demand public transportation service.

This meeting will provide an opportunity for Council to hear public comments regarding the future of transit in our community. The Town released a joint request for proposals (RFP) with the Town of Midland to evaluate potential micro transit options for Midland and Penetanguishene that, if approved, could transform and potentially replace the current conventional Mid-Pen Transit system.

Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM 3:00PM
Location: Council Chambers, Town Hall
10 Robert Street West
Penetanguishene

What is Microtransit?
Microtransit is a modern, on-demand transportation solution using smaller vehicles and app-based scheduling and fare payment. It offers a more responsive and efficient alternative to traditional fixed-route bus services.

Your input matters — help shape the future of transit in Penetanguishene!
