Flags Lowered Honouring Former Chief Administrative Officer Yvon Gagné

The flags at Penetanguishene’s facilities have been lowered in honour of former Chief Administrative Officer, Yvon Gagné. “Our thoughts are with his family at this time. The former CAO had a sincere passion for the Town. His time at Townhall included moments of kindness, generosity and support to staff and Council and real efforts to do what he thought was best for Penetanguishene.” said Deputy Mayor Anita Dubeau
The former Chief Administrative Officer was a part of the Penetanguishene staff for 32 years where he worked as the Deputy-Clerk, Clerk-Administrator and finally as the Chief Administrative Officer. He was the catalyst for most of the improvements in the town during his time but he was never one to take credit. In recognition of his great contribution and devotion to the municipality, the town named the courtyard adjacent to the municipal offices in Yvon’s honour in 2015. Other awards he received included Senior of the Year in 2005; Volunteer Appreciation Award for his 10 years as a Friend of the Penetanguishene Library Fundraising Committee; and the Rotary Club Paul Harris Community Service Award.
"Yvon was admired and well respected by members of Penetanguishene Council, staff, citizens and businesses.” said Chief Administrative Officer, Jeff Lees. “We express our condolences to his family”.
