Introducing Communications & Technology Coordinator - Sarah Marshall

We are pleased to announce that Sarah Marshall has accepted the position of Communications and Technology Coordinator in the Corporate Services Department, effective September 18, 2020.

This position reports to our Clerk/Deputy CAO (A), Stacey Cooper. Sarah will be responsible for handling the internal and external communications including social media, website and media relations.  A majority of this new role will be developing new marketing and community engagement strategies for the Town, local businesses, and our residents. She will also coordinate the technology needs for the corporation with our service providers.

Sarah graduated from the University of Waterloo with Honours Sports Business Management & Marketing, Recreation and Leisure Studies Degree.  Prior to accepting this position, she served as the Town’s Recreation and Events Coordinator on a contract and was redeployed during the COVID-19 pandemic to act as our Communications Coordinator. “The Town’s 2019-2023 Community Based Strategic Plan outlined the Town’s need for more effective communication and community engagement to further Penetanguishene's residents involvement in all aspects of the municipality” says Chief Administration Officer, Jeff Lees, “combined with the future digital and electronic municipal initiatives that are planned with evolving technology we are confident that this role will be of great benefit to our community.”

Sarah brings experience and a proven track record of success while working for the Town of Penetanguishene, which will be invaluable in meeting the departmental goals and objectives. Sarah is a Town of Penetanguishene resident and enjoys walking the beautiful Rotary Champlain Wendat Park. She is excited to work and make a difference in a community that she loves.
