Main Street Reconstruction Project Update - October 19, 2018
This past week has seen some interesting weather pass through our area but even with the change in temperature a considerable amount of construction activity on the Main Street was seen as the project nears completion. JB Enterprises Ltd. has completed the following work for the week ending October 19, 2018:
- Completed Poyntz Street Intersection Concrete Base for Paving Stones;
- Completed Placement of Granular “A” at the Thompsons Road Intersection;
- Base Asphalt completed to Thompsons Road;
- Boulevard Stones installation from Jeffery Street to Edward Street Ongoing;
- Paving Stones at Poyntz Street Intersection underway;
- Sidewalk placed just South of Edward Street;
- Installed Traffic Signals Pole Bases at Thompsons Road.
The following items are scheduled to be completed for the week of October 22, 2018 to October 26, 2018:
- Close Thompsons Road Intersection and Maintain Single Lane Traffic Controlled by Flag Persons on an as needed basis;
- Complete Base Asphalt at Thompsons Road Intersection;
- Complete Surface Asphalt from Water Street to Thompsons Road;
- Start Line Painting on surface Asphalt;
- Continue Boulevard Stones from Edward Street Heading south;
- Continue Site Furnishings and Veneer;
- Continue Sidewalk From South of Edward Street to Thompsons Road;
- Complete Paving Stones at Poyntz Street Intersection.
The upcoming week of construction will see a lot of construction activity at the southern limits of project so pedestrians and motorists are asked to be cautious when travelling through the detour areas and to obey the traffic controls in place.
