With the reopening of the Robert Street intersection in the eastbound and westbound direction only, stop signs have been placed in the appropriate locations. Please obey the stop signs as they will allow pedestrian traffic to safely cross the intersection until such time as the traffic signalization is in place.
The intersection at Poyntz Street and Jeffery Street will be closed as the work between the intersections will continue. The detour has been set up at Edward Street to send all traffic east and west bound around to Robert Street East. A map has been attached to identify the route to be taken if you are looking to get to the west or east end of town. JB Enterprises has assured both the Town and the Village Square Mall merchants that access will be provided at all times to the property off Main Street. This will require the installation of a temporary access so please watch for the Mall access locations as they may change over the course of the next 2-3 weeks.
Thank you to everyone for your continued patience and understanding. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact the Public Works Department at 549-7992 or visit the Town of Penetanguishene website at www.penetanguishene.ca.
