NOTICE OF ADOPTION
OF A NEW OFFICIAL PLAN FOR THE
TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene passed By-Law 2018-49 to adopt a new Official Plan, on the 27th day of June 2018, pursuant to Sections 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.
PURPOSE |
The purpose of the Town’s new Official Plan is to provide policies to guide development in the Town until 2031. |
EFFECT |
Adoption of By-law 2018-49 and the Town’s new Official Plan has the effect of repealing the Town’s existing Official Plan and all subsequent amendments. |
SUBJECT LANDS |
All lands with the Town of Penetanguishene. |
HOW WERE PUBLIC COMMENTS CONSIDERED |
All public comments on the drafts of the Official Plan were summarized and assessed in a matrix that is available on the Town’s website: https://www.penetanguishene.ca/en/business/official-plan.asp |

AND TAKE NOTICE THAT the County of Simcoe is the approval authority for the Official Plan. Any person or public body who submits a written request to the County of Simcoe will receive a Notice of Decision from the County. Such requests should be forwarded to:

WHO CAN FILE AN APPEAL
Only individuals, corporations or public bodies may appeal the decision of the County of Simcoe to the Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the plan was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
