Notice of Procedural By-law Amendment
The Council of the Town of Penetanguishene intends to pass an amendment to the Procedural By-law at its Regular Council Meeting to be held on Wednesday April 10, 2019, in the Council Chambers, Townhall, 10 Robert Street West, Penetanguishene.
The Procedural By-law governs the calling, place and proceedings of meetings of Council, Committees and Boards.
The proposed amendments to the By-law include:
- Amendments to the Procedural By-law are being recommended by the Clerk regarding Council workshops, Urgent Special Meetings, Council Information Packages (CIP) and temporary replacements at County Council;
- the Heritage Committee and Museum Advisory Committee to be merged into the “Museum and Heritage Advisory Committee”;
- the Seniors Advisory Committee, Youth Council and Accessibility Advisory Committee be dissolved and merged in the membership of the “Community Wellbeing Committee”;
- the Town’s Advisory Committees of Council reduce all advisory committee meetings to quarterly or at the call of the chair;
- Advisory Committees require annual work plans for all Advisory Committees that are approved by Council;
- Updated Terms of Reference for each committee in Schedule D of the Procedural By-law.
The draft Procedural By-law Amendments are available for viewing at Townhall. Any comments or inquiries should be directed to the Clerk on or before 12 noon on Wednesday April 3, 2019 in order to be considered by Council prior to the passing of the By-law.
