Notice of StreetScan - Road and Sidewalk Assessment Scooters

Update: This notice is to inform residents and businesses that StreetScan, will be conducting a detailed scan of all municipal roads in the Town of Penetanguishene. This process is similar to the process completed last week on municipal sidewalks. The assessment will begin on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 8 am until completed.

This notice is to inform residents and businesses that StreetScan, a company specializing in sidewalk condition assessment, will be conducting a detailed scan of all municipal sidewalks in the Town of Penetanguishene. The purpose of this scan is to identify any areas of the sidewalk that require repair or maintenance. This scan is an important part of the town’s efforts to ensure that our sidewalks are safe and accessible for everyone.

This assessment will begin on Wednesday, May 10^th, and continue until Friday, May 12^th from 8 am until 5 pm.

The scanning process will be conducted using a specialized scooter, equipped with advanced sensors that will provide a detailed analysis of the sidewalk condition. The scooter will drive slowly down each sidewalk, scanning the sidewalk as it goes. The scanning process will not require any disruption to pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
