Public Information Session for the Chatham Street Reconstruction-Rescheduled
This notice has been issued by the Public Works Department to inform the residents of Chatham Street and the surrounding neighbourhood that a rescheduled public information session will be held for the Chatham Street Reconstruction Project within the Council Chambers at the Town of Penetanguishene Administration Building on Tuesday March 5th, 2019 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public and the residents of Chatham Street the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Town so that any questions or concerns can be addressed prior to construction. The first phase of the Chatham Street Reconstruction project (Beck Boulevard to Burke Street) is anticipated to begin in 2021 with the second and final phase (Burke Street to Brock Street) following in 2022.
The scope of the work proposed on Chatham Street between Brock Street and Beck Boulevard will include the following:
- Replacement of the existing Watermain and Stormwater Collection System;
- Rehabilitation of the Sanitary Sewer Main with Lateral Replacements;
- Addition of a sidewalk on the west side of the Road allowance;
- Addition of designated parallel street parking;
- Asphalt Resurfacing including curb and gutter.
