Shoreline Cleanups - Georgian Bay Forever
The Town of Penetanguishene is pleased to welcome Georgian Bay Forever to Rotary Champlain Wendat Park. Commencing Friday June 13, members of Georgian Bay Forever will have a booth set up in the park, every other Friday from 9:30am – 11:30am until the end of August.
Georgian Bay Forever is a charitable organization with a mission to protect and enhance Georgian Bay through science, research, education and action. The team will be conducting shoreline pick up of waste and recording their findings. Residents are encouraged to stop by and engage in conversation or assist with their efforts. Upon completion of their bi-weekly events, the Town will receive a report and summary of their findings.
Through partnerships with organizations like Georgian Bay Forever, the Town is demonstrating its committed to the Community Strategic Plan.
Theme 4 Health Community: Promote Healthy Living, Well-Being and an Active Lifestyle for All Ages. Objective 2: Develop Community ‘green’ initiatives that protect the natural environment.
