Council Highlights provide a brief overview of noteworthy decisions and presentations made at Town of Penetanguishene Council meetings. Detailed agendas and minutes from the meetings are available on our website. This meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube Channel.
Council convened in closed session in accordance with the Town of Penetanguishene Procedural By-law 2019-25, the Council of the Town of Penetanguishene move into an in-camera session to discuss:
- A human resources matter about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.
Special Committee of the Whole
Committee of the Whole (Committee) facilitates the decision-making process of Council. The Committee is comprised of all members of Council who fully participate in debate and forward recommendations to Council for final decision. Items that are discussed in Committee of the Whole are to be ratified at Council’s next meeting.
- Committee received the Arena & Recreation Centre Study (ARCS) Preliminary Financial Analysis for information.
- Committee received a presentation regarding 51 Dunlop Information & Next Steps. After discussion from members of the public, and members of committee, Committee approved the recommended option as outlined in the report and presentation.
- Committee directed the Clerk to include items for consideration in the future Procedure By-Law report. Items brought forward by committee will be added to the report and discussed when the Procedure By-law report is brought to Committee of the Whole.
- Committee approved the janitorial services tender be awarded to Corvin Building Maintenance as outlined in the Janitorial Services Tender.
