Town of Penetanguishene is looking for nominations for the 2026 Senior of the Year Award

 

The Town of Penetanguishene is proud to honour the remarkable contributions of local seniors through its annual Senior Recognition Award. This initiative celebrates one outstanding senior each year who has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the community.

Residents are invited to nominate a deserving senior who has contributed in areas such as Arts, Literature, Community Service, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Fitness, or Humanitarian efforts. This award shines a light on individuals whose dedication, leadership, and volunteerism help make Penetanguishene a vibrant and welcoming place to live.

Eligibility Criteria

Nominees must be:

  • A current resident of the Town of Penetanguishene
  • At least 65 years of age
  • A living individual who has made significant contributions to the community

Ineligible Nominations

Nominations cannot be submitted for:

  • Yourself
  • Individuals who are deceased
  • Elected officials at the federal, provincial, or municipal level, or political appointees

Nomination Deadline

All nominations must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026.
