Town of Penetanguishene raises Ukraine flag in support of the people of Ukraine

March 11, 2022 - The blue-and-yellow flag of Ukraine has been displayed outside of Penetanguishene’s Town Hall as a symbol of the community’s support for the people of Ukraine.

In addition to raising the flag, members of Town Council, Staff, and members of the public paused for a moment of silence during the March 9 Council meeting to show their solidarity for those impacted by the violence unfolding in Ukraine.

“I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the country and people of Ukraine who are currently suffering,” says Mayor Leroux. “Our hearts go out to them, and we will continue to stand with them during this terrible time.”

The Ukrainian flag will fly outside of the Town Hall, alongside the Canadian Flag, and Province of Ontario Flag, until April 11, 2022.
