Volunteer Call Out: Town Dock Secondary Plan, Technical Advisory Committee
In late 2019, the Town was successful in obtaining $40,000 through the County of Simcoe’s Economic Development Program to complete a Town Dock Secondary Plan in 2020. An extension to the required completion date for the Town Dock Study was granted to June 2021 by the Council of the County of Simcoe as a result of the pandemic.
On December 9, 2020, Council approved the creation of a Town Dock Secondary Plan Technical Advisory Committee to provide guidance to the consulting team and to provide local input pertaining the project.
The purpose of the study is to examine potential new uses, direct high level land use planning policies to guide development and assist with future investment decisions. The goals of the study are as follows:
- maximize potential land uses
- establish a framework for future private sector investment
- prepare for future capital infrastructure projects.
