Municipal Storm Drainage

Storm drainage in Penetanguishene is provided by storm sewers, municipal drains, and roadside ditches. Please note that not all properties are provided a storm outlet.

Storm Sewers

Storm Sewers are generally found in the urban area and are operated by the Municipality and the cost of maintenance is included in the urban tax rate.

Municipal Drains

Municipal Drains are generally found in the rural areas of the Municipality and are established in accordance with The Drainage Act of Ontario.

Roadside Ditches

Roadside Ditches are generally found in rural areas and are for the purpose of draining roadways, not providing drainage for abutting land.
