COVID-19 Municipal Impacts: June 4

The Town of Penetanguishene continues to monitor news and updates concerning COVID-19 to ensure we work to keep our community members safe. The following update provided on June 4, 2021 is in addition to the updates provided in previous weeks, found here.

Town of Penetanguishene Municipal Offices open buildings to the public, effective June 3, 2021

(Penetanguishene) - In line with the end of the provincial Stay-at-Home Order, The Town of Penetanguishene will be reopening Town Hall, the Public Works Administration Building and the Penetanguishene Fire Hall to the public Thursday, June 3, 2021. Previously, these offices were operating by appointment only. In accordance with the Provincial Re-opening Plan, the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum will continue to remain closed to the public until Step 3 in the Roadmap to Re-opening Ontario.

Changes to Mid-Pen Transit: New Transit Rates

May 28, 2021 –Town of Penetanguishene and Town of Midland Council members approved changes to the current fare rates for the Mid-Pen Transit Service. As of June 14, 2021, the fare rates for all riders will increase to the following amounts:

Line Painting: May 25, 2021

In conjunction with Midwestern Line Painting, The Town of Penetanguishene will be line painting throughout the Town, starting Tuesday, May 25, 2021 between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This work is scheduled to take approximately two (2) days to complete.

Town of Penetanguishene Celebrates VON Week 2021

(Penetanguishene) May 23, 2021 – The Town is celebrating VON week from May 23 – 29. This year’s theme, Compassion where it Counts, acknowledges the compassionate care staff and volunteers continue to provide to keep people healthy and safe at home – at a time where this is more important than ever.
