Senior of the Year
Senior of the Year Recognition Award
The Town of Penetanguishene is proud to honour the remarkable contributions of local seniors through its Senior of the Year Award program. This award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful and lasting contributions to the community through their dedication, leadership, volunteerism, and service.
Residents are encouraged to nominate a deserving senior whose efforts have helped make Penetanguishene a vibrant, welcoming, and compassionate community. Nominations may recognize contributions in areas such as:
- Arts and Culture
- Literature
- Community Service
- Education
- Environmental Stewardship
- Fitness and Recreation
- Humanitarian Efforts
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must:
- Be a current resident of the Town of Penetanguishene
- Be at least 65 years of age
- Be a living individual who has made significant contributions to the community
Ineligible Nominations
Nominations cannot be submitted for:
- Yourself
- Individuals who are deceased
- Elected officials at the federal, provincial, or municipal level
- Political appointees
