October 19, 2021 – As members of the community are aware, the Town of Penetanguishene has completed the purchase of property located at 51 Dunlop Street – the site of the former Penetanguishene Secondary School.
October 15, 2021 – Our services continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and enforcement-related requests are being prioritized to ensure our officers are responding as quickly as possible to support the public health emergency.

October 13, 2021 – The Town of Penetanguishene has received official confirmation that in 2022, policing costs will be significantly increased. This is directly as a result of the Ministry’s arbitrary decision to discontinue funding policing costs at Central North Correctional Centre (CNCC). Over the last year, Mayor Leroux has made several efforts to engage thoroughly with the Solicitor General (Minister Sylvia Jones) and our local MPP Jill Dunlop about this very issue.
October 7, 2021 – After 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s obvious that the stress, fear, and frustration in all has not subsided. In fact, although the restrictions may be easing, the pressure from COVID-19 still lingers. We would all love for our community to be back to normal.
October 5, 2021- With a goal to provide a safe working environment for municipal employees and members of the public, the Town of Penetanguishene has implemented a policy to ensure employees are fully immunized or regularly tested for COVID-19.
The Council of the Town of Penetanguishene intends to pass an amendment to the Procedural By-law at its Regular Council Meeting to be held on Wednesday October 13, 2021 in the Council Chambers, Townhall, 10 Robert Street West, Penetanguishene.
Today, September 30, 2021 marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as well as Orange Shirt Day.
