Winterama is fast approaching. You can find the schedule of events for the weekend online at www.winterama.ca. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Penetanguishene on Family Day Weekend, February 17-19, 2023!

Upcoming Council Events
Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - Town of Penetanguishene Council Meeting. At this meeting, we will be holding a public meeting, regarding a zoning by-law amendment, for the removal of the (H) symbol for 284 Watson Road. Your comments and feedback are welcome in regards to this application.
We will be recognizing several youth members of our community that have achieved great success both nationally and internationally. Several students from Burkevale School will be recognized for winning a national space competition along with the Penetang Flames U13 team for winning the International Silver Stick Tournament.
Council will be reviewing and potentially adopting the Committee of the Whole Report from January 11, 2023.
As well, the Special Committee of the Whole Report from January 25, 2023, and the budget summaries will be reviewed and potentially adopted.
The Terms of Reference for the Town Dock Ad-Hoc Committee will be presented for council review.
A motion will also be presented for councils consideration to strengthen our Freshwater Action Plan. As well as a notice of motion for councils consideration at our March meeting regarding the Economic Development Corporation of North Simcoe (EDCNS).
Additionally, we have by-laws being presented to pass, being a by-law to appoint a Fire Chief, and a by-law to amend the zoning by-law in reference to the public meeting earlier in the evening.
Following the Council meeting, council will convene as Committee of the Whole. The meeting agenda and how to participate can be found online: As a highlight Committee will be discussing:

Wednesday, January 25th, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - Town of Penetanguishene Special Committee of the Whole Meeting. Council reviewed Draft #4 of the Town Operating and Capital Budgets. Public feedback received were included in this draft presentation. With amendments made at this meeting, it is the intent to have our budget approved by council at our February 8th, 2023 Council Meeting. The following items were reviewed at this meeting:

Ball Hockey Registration is Open
Registration is now open for the 2023 Penetang Midland Minor Ball Hockey League Season.
Register on or before March 10th to save with our Early Bird Fee.

Tuesday March 7 Penetanguishene Arena 6:30 to 8:00 pm (Early Bird Fees Apply)

Thursday March 23 Penetanguishene Arena 6:30 to 8:00 pm (Regular Registration Fees Apply)
