Town of Penetanguishene Reminds Residents to Take Part in National Day Against Litter – May 12, 2026

Penetanguishene, ON - The Town of Penetanguishene is reminding residents that tomorrow, May 12, is National Day Against Litter, and encouraging everyone to take part by helping keep the community clean and welcoming.

Residents are invited to clean up their own street, a local park, or a favourite outdoor spot at any time throughout the day. To support community cleanup efforts, the Town has cleanup bags available for residents.

Once cleanup bags are filled, residents have two easy options for disposal:

  • Arrange for pickup by Town staff by calling the Town and advising where the bags have been left, or
  • Drop off filled bags at the Penetanguishene Arena

To arrange collection or for more information, residents can contact the Town at 705-549-7453
or rpatenaude@penetanguishene.ca.

National Day Against Litter is an opportunity for everyone to make a positive impact on the environment and take pride in Penetanguishene’s natural spaces. Every small effort helps keep the community clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.

The Town thanks residents for their participation and continued commitment to a cleaner, greener Penetanguishene.
