Town of Penetanguishene welcomes the holiday season with Festival of Lights, December 2, 2022

The Town of Penetanguishene is thrilled to welcome back the Festival of Lights and Town Tree Lighting Event, on December 2, 2022. Community members are invited to attend the tree lighting, and free outdoor activities from 5:00PM – 8:00PM.

This event occurs in two locations. The Penetanguishene Town Dock and Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives. A full schedule breakdown is outlined below:

Town Dock, 2 Main Street: The Tree Lighting activities will begin at 5:00PM with live caroling from the Bay Sound Children’s Choir, and a welcoming speech by Deputy Mayor Dan La Rose will be at 5:30PM. Following the tree lighting, community members can watch a live fire performance while they wait for their Horse & Carriage ride to the Museum. Community Members will also be provided vouchers for free hot apple cider, courtesy of the World Famous Dock Lunch.

Community members are advised that the Horse and Wagon rides will travel from the Town Dock to the Museum using the side portion of Burke Street and Beck Blvd. There will be no road closure. Residents are asked to yield to the horses and drive respectively.

The Penetanguishene Museum activities will commence after the tree lighting at 13 Burke Street.

Activities for all ages include:

  • Fire pits with marshmallows
  • Visits with Santa
  • Free hot chocolate and cookies
  • Take-home crafts and goodies
  • Live Music
  • Strolling Carnival Performers
  • Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos
  • Winter inflatable maze which will fill the museum grounds
